William McHenry Obituary
William Leonard McHenry of San Diego, CA, passed away on April 23, 2023 after an 18-year battle against cancer.
Will was born on January 4, 1949 and grew up in Pacific Beach, spending his days working at his parents' grocery store with his three siblings. A proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, Will worked alongside his wife, Rachel, for 25 years as an Office Manager/Accountant for The Living School on Balboa Ave. He then dedicated 13 years to The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, serving first as the Director of Volunteers and Food Procurement and later retiring as a Project/Facilities Director.
Will married Rachel in 1978 and together they raised 4 beautiful children. He lived a full life, enjoying times with his family, playing music, traveling, attending Bible study, and being involved with the arts.
Will is lovingly survived by his wife of 45 years, Rachel McHenry; his four children, James Faust (Michelle), Crystal Hernandez, Sasha Principato (Mark), Ian McHenry (Joslyn); eight grandchildren (Imani, James, Eva, John, Aaron, Isla, Emma, Ellie), and great-granddaughter (Amari). Also surviving are his siblings Steven, Donald, and Susan, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 11am at Pacific Beach Christian Church: 1074 Loring St, San Diego, CA 92109.
To honor Will's long fight against cancer, the family welcomes donations to The American Cancer Society.

Family was a gift every day. Will and i are both quiet people. But we respected each other. And i am thank full i got to write him a letter. And show him my appreciation. See Will in heaven. I pray for continue strength from God to his wife Rachel and all family

Uncle Will has left an amazing legacy for all of us who loved him so dearly. So many memories over the years, from family game time (pig mania & Atari), to picnics at Mission Bay, Disneyland trips, camping trips, so much love & happiness is wrapped up in our memories of him. He is missed tremendously by myself & my family. All of our love & condolences to Aunt Rachel & the entire McHenry family.
