William Pettijohn Obituary

William Lee Pettijohn II July 8, 1979 - November 20, 2021 San Diego, CA
William "Bill" Lee Pettijohn II, aged 42, died peacefully at his home in San Diego on November 20, 2021, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was born in Lakewood, Ohio on July 8, 1979, son of the late Bill Sr. and Charmaine Pettijohn. He was also preceded in death by his half sister Shannon. Bill is survived by his loving wife Valerie and two beautiful daughters, Paige and Morgan, as well his aunts Jane and Peg, his uncle Andy, and cousins Andy, Megan, Ryan and John Michael.
Anyone who knew Bill knew that he lived life to the fullest. Growing up modestly, Bill's life-long ambition was to create a great life for himself and his family, which is exactly what he did. After playing football in middle and high school, Bill went on to get his Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Master's Degree in Marketing from Kent State University, where he was also a member of Theta Chi fraternity. After meeting his wife Valerie in Ohio, the two moved to San Diego in order to further his business.
When Bill wasn't busy running his company or teaching his daughters how to play Bocce ball, he loved boating and skiing, especially in Jackson Hole. He also enjoyed reading and politics, attending many local fundraisers and educating himself on how to better serve his community.
Bill was a bit of a prankster and loved to be surrounded by friends, family, fine wine and food, and had the kind of contagious laughter that caused those around him to double over in stitches. He will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 11, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the home of his dear friends Luke and Kirsten Allen, 7664 Top O The Morning Way, San Diego, CA 92127.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill's honor to the Li Fraumeni research association at
