San Luis Obispo, California - Anna Pfeiler-Dahan was born on January 21, 1935 in Feldbach, Austria and passed away on July 13, 2023 in Los Osos, California.
She grew up with five siblings and at the age of 9, she experienced World War II giving her a unique outlook on life.
At 18 she followed her two older sisters to Switzerland to seek a better life.
Anna married her first husband, Angelo in Zurich and in 1961, her only child Gabriella was born.
They lived in Witikon, Switzerland both working for the Weissmann family.
In her continued pursuit for a better life, Anna immigrated to California in 1981. She married her second husband, Paul Dahan, and moved to San Luis Obispo where she lived for 38 years.
Anna and Paul were active in the community with Shriners, Knights of Columbus and PG&E Retirees.
Whenever she could, she attended weekly service at the Mission of San Luis Obispo.
Her friendly and generous spirit blessed her with many wonderful friends.
Anna's love for dogs, flowers, beautiful things, as well as all things blue, made her life colorful and vibrant.
Her biggest joy was her weekly trip to the flea market, where she knew everyone and found treasures. She always said, "if you have a bad day, go to the flea market. Everything will be ok after".
Anna is survived by her daughter Gabriella Mazzaro Crowley, her son-in-law Jim, her grandchild Prisco, and his wife Chellia, as well as her younger brother Karl Pfeiler and numerous other family members in Austria.

I only knew Anna as a patient in the dental office where I used to work but always enjoyed running into her around town on occasion as we would take time to "catch up"......she never failed to brighten my day on those short, simple encounters.......a quiet but very special lady.
