Aurora Castro Mendez

Aurora Castro Mendez, of Arroyo Grande, passed Wednesday, March 20, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born in May 1925 in Villa Victoria, Estado de Mexico (Mexico City), Aurora emigrated to the United States in July of 1964 to joing her husband, Eusebio Maurilo Amaro Mendez, with her five children Olga, Marco Antonio, Amalia, Joaquin and Rosa Hortencia. Aurora was a dedicated wife and mother, but above all she was a most beloved grandmother. She loved cooked for her family as well as tended to her garden and animals. Aurora is survived by her children Olga (Blockmon), Amalia (Rea), Joaquin Mendez and Rosa (Moore); dozens of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She joins her husband, Eusebio Maurilo Amaro Mendez; son, Marco Antonio and daughter Marta Xochitl, in peace. Viewing will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Lady Family Mortuary, 555 Fair Oaks in Arroyo Grande. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.
