Charles L. VanNortwick

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, Charles L. VanNortwick, 76, beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend, passed away unexpectedly. He was born in Belleville, Kan., in July 1934 to Leonard and Lucille VanNortwick. He grew up in Republic, Kan., where he graduated from Belleville High School in 1952. He moved to Camarillo, Calif., where he worked for Adohr Farms. After his move to California, he married Anna Janousek in 1953. Charles was self-employed in 1954 and provided landscaping and weed abatement services. His love for trains and hard work gave him the drive and determination to work with Union Pacific Railroads along the Central Coast. Charles is survived by his brother, George VanNortwick; sister, Janice Hettinghouse; wife, Anna VanNortwick; four children: sons Randy VanNortwick and Curtis VanNortwick (Judy); daughters Delores VanNortwick and Mary Ferreira (Victor); grandchildren Chad and Derek VanNortwick and Jason and Stephen Ferreira; and great-grandchildren Isaiah and Gerrick VanNortwick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and Leonard.
