I didn't know Corkey as well as most but after moving to Paso Robles in 2004 and joining the Men's club, it wasn't long before I came to know Corkey fairly well. A true down to earth guy that said it the way it was. I enjoyed BS'ing and playing with him very, very much. The best times with Corkey was when John Bergin and myself would drive out to the lake, buy a rack of beer, and head over to their place to sit around and BS with him and Melody. Although Melody wouldn't stay too long and would go see a girlfriend. I will think of that man often.

I am very sad to see this in the paper today. What fun memories at the Paso Golf Club and our NAGA golf group with Corkey always heading up the laughs and wearing those white "Muni" socks. Prayers to the whole family.

To start a good round necessity is a genial meeting with the starter. Having played golf now for over 70 years Ifound Corky to be the epitome of friendliness and willing to help. One of my favorite clubs is one that Corky persuaded me to buy. I will always think of him when I use it. My condolences on his passing to his family.
