David Lopez Obituary

David G. Lopez, 46, beloved father, husband, son, brother and friend passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.

David and his family have been Central Coast residents for the past 27 years. David graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering. He also graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master of Science degree in Systems Management.

With David's love of real estate and the Central Coast, becoming a licensed Realtor in 2004 was a natural career change. David served on the board of directors for the Pismo Coast Association of Realtors and was an award winning Sales Associate who earned several designations throughout his career. He was a dedicated professional who was generous with his time and knowledge, and was admired by everyone who worked with him.

David was devoted to his wife and family - his daughter, Rachel, was the pride and joy of his life. David also shared a special love with his younger brother, older sisters, nieces and nephews, who were all very close to his heart.

David enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time on the river with fishing pole in hand. He looked forward to traveling, hunting and building projects. He often read motivational books and knew the value of setting goals.

He was warm and caring and always quick to smile. He was very supportive, insightful and always there to share his wisdom and give encouragement. He had a wonderful sense of humor and genuinely cared about other people. We were blessed to have had him in our lives and will treasure his memory forever.

Please join us for a "celebration of life" service at 10:30 a.m. Monday April 27, 2009, at Pelican Point Restaurant (Shore Cliff Lodge), 2575 Price Street in Pismo Beach.

A Wonderful Man
When life gets too stressful and there is no more room,A wonderful Man's life is over way too soon...The plans, the future,Holidays and fun, All of these vanished in the rise of the sun...Integrity was his Manner, Friendship was his fame, Loyalty and caring, David Lopez was his name...Husband,Father,Engineer,Realtor and Outdoors man. Loni was his solid Rock,Rachel was his Sunshine...His time with us was way too short, But God had a different plan...He is gone from us forever, cradled in our Lord's hand...
Hugs and Kisses,
Your Mother-in-law

When I met David he was the answer to my realtor prayer. It took nearly 9 months to sell my Uncles home, his patience and guidance through a difficult task. My heart and prayers go out to his Family, may Gods Peace comfort you all. It was an honor to know him.

A coworker talked about a wonderful real estate agent she found to help her sell her uncle's house. When he came into her office I did a double take and realized this is the guy who lived a block away from me when we were growing up. We talked alittle remembering our days in McFarland High. We soon seemed to run into each other several times in Santa Maria. David was definately devoted to his family as he always had his mom and or daughter with him. I pray the Lord will strengthen you Rachel and David's family too. David was truly a good man.

David and brother Rene were my first new friends when I relocated to McFarland, CA back in 1975. He helped to make my transition alot smoother. Back then he was like a big brother to me. When he bought a guitar, I bought a guitar. When he bought his first KISS record, I bought my first KISS record. He was the epitome of cool; wearing his floppy demin hat and not caring what anyone else thought. I was always so impressed by how dedicated he was to his family (mother, sisters, brother & aunt). He seemded to be the man of the house at a very early age. David was surely a class act. We had such great times fishing, playing baseball, football, and generally hanging out on those grueling hot McFarland summer days. He was one of those people who genuinely made their mark in my life...for the better. To Senora Lopez, Rene, Gabby, Dunia, and Aunt Patti...I offer you my deepest sympathy and all of my love. I will always remember my dear friend David and I will certainly keep him in my thoughts and prayers. One last note...To David's pride and joy, Rachel. Your daddy was a true friend, and in this life, that says it all. May God keep you close during this time of sorrow.

David always had a smile on his face when ever he came into our shop (R & T Embroidery, Inc.) whether he was picking up an order or droping garments off. David was one of the GOOD GUYS and he will be missed very much.

I had a business lunch with David not long ago when I was in the mortgage business. He was very helpful, cheerful, and organized. He was very open to me, He was very classy and friendly. I wish I had a chance to get to know him more. He had a great spirit about him and enjoyed life. I know he made the most of his time here.

David was and continues to be a beautiful spirit. When my husband David and I moved to the central coast we met him from one of his listings. Even though he knew we would not be using his real estate services because I am a realtor, he helped give us some ideas about employment opportunities for David and some homes we might like anyways. We found his generousity, sincerity and helpfulness remarkable. He told us a story about how he rented a friends large closet while going to college for a short time and his perserverence inspires us to this day. I told my son who is headed on to college soon about David's determination and drive to make it happen. We am grateful to have known him.
