Edward Cairns Obituary
Ed received his masters from San Francisco State University and his Ph.D. from Denver University. Professor Cairns taught Writing, Shakespeare and
18th Century British Literature at Cal Poly for 28 years.
In 1988, Ed married Patricia Henderson of San Luis Obispo, the love of his
life. Retiring from teaching in 1991, they moved to Eugene, Ore.
Ed will be lovingly remembered for his sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children Peter Thompson Cairns of
Nipomo, Kirby Edward Cairns of North Folk Calif., and Robin Cairns Darbonne
of Litteton, Colo. and many grandchildren.
Donations may be given to Greenhill Humane Society or LCARA in Eugene, Ore.
