Florence Plaisted Obituary

Florence Ayer Plaisted, 79, of Avila Beach died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005 at her home. There will be no public services.

Mrs. Plaisted was born July 5, 1926 in Bradford, NH. She attended the University of New Hampshire, was an administrative assistant in the Office of Research at Harvard University, the Chairman?s Office in the Physics Department at the University of Rhode Island, and the Office of Personnel Testing at the University of Illinois. In later years she was a travel agent at Brea Travel in Southern California. She was an avid and accomplished skier, took up tennis at the age of 60, and went on to compete in the tennis Nationals. Her greatest achievement was the raising of her two daughters, Karen and Cindy.

Mrs. Plaisted is survived by her husband, William Plaisted of Avila Beach; her daughters, Karen Wedaman of Vacaville, Calif. and Cynthia Forrester of Poundridge, NY; her granddaughters, Lynn Ann and Alexandra Forrester of Poundridge, NY; her brother, Donald Ayer, of Mich.; her sisters, Lois Heyer of NY and Mildred Allen of New Hampshire.

Contributions may be made in Mrs. Plaisted?s memory to the American Cancer Society.
