Frank O'Connor Obituary

Frank E. O''Connor, 76, was born in Miles City, Mont., and passed away peacefully Saturday, May 1, 2010, at French Hospital in San Luis Obispo. He moved to California and later joined the U.S. Army, where he trained service dogs and was a Korean War veteran. In 1971, business took him to Hawaii, where he met and married his soul mate, Barbara "Bobbie." Frank worked on several large construction jobs while Bobbie worked in finance. In 1982, they moved to California and settled in the Paso Robles area. They started F.E. O''Connor Concrete and Bobbie worked at a local Credit Union. Frank was described by several of his peers as "one of the best concrete contractors ever to have been in the business." His knowledge and willingness to help others will be greatly missed. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Bobbie: sister, Shirley Halpin (Tim); brother, James; nephew, Shaun; niece, Kimberly Hollis; other nieces, nephews, cousins; and his devoted animals, Buffy, Beau and Paco. A celebration of Frank''s life will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010, at the Park Ballroom, 1232 Park S. (above McLintock''s) in Paso Robles. All guests are encouraged to "come as they are" (as Frank would have wished). In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hearst Cancer Resource Center at French Hospital in San Luis Obispo.

I worked at the concrete plant that Frank did most or all of his business with. He was always so pleasant, such a gentleman. Bobbie and family, I know you will miss him greatly. I am so sorry for your loss. Sandi Birchfield

Frank's family: I did not know Frank, but just wanted to know that the smile on his face absolutely radiates happiness. He must have been one heck of a happy guy before the Lord took him away. I am truly sorry for your loss.
