Gary Lund Obituary

Gary Truman Lund, 70, resident of Atascadero, was born in 1940 in San Jose, Calif., and passed away peacefully Sunday, June 19, 2011, at home. As a sixth generation native Californian, Gary was very proud of his family linage. He was graduated from Campbell High School and San Jose City College and worked for Dick''s Market, Rouse Bros. Garage and Napa Auto Parts in the San Jose area. In Atascadero, Gary was employed by Gem Automotive and Idler''s. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in San Jose and E. Clampus Vitas in Hollister, Calif. As a young man, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and exploring the Sierras. Travel and camping remained high priorities in retirement. Gary is survived by his wife, Doris; children Dennis T. Lund and Dianne D. Montijo; grandsons Patrick and Nicholas Montijo; sisters Gale E. Reamer (Bill) of Paso Robles and Janice D. Foye (Gerry) of North Carolina; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford T. Lund and Jessie F. Sheffer; and his wife, Palmira Lund. At Gary''s request, no service will be held. His ashes will be scattered at a later date. Donations may be made to your favorite charity or Hospice Partners of the Central Coast, 277 South Street, Ste. R, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
