Herb became a major part of our Scheidler family back here in Michigan during his many trips to visit with my sister Sharon, to stay with our mom & dad. Herb was the kind of guy that everyone looked forward to spending some time with. I'm very please that my sister and he got together, as we could not have hoped for a better addition to our family. Thanks also for introducing us to Tri-Tip, he was a Grill-Master Extraordinaire' and always great to enjoy a beverage with. We will miss him very much. Note to Herb, 'Thanks for just being the great guy that you were. Your as good as they come.' Dwayne

Santa Margarita will never be the same without those who have left us recently. I know they are not suffering any more but we still are. I know we will get through this but it won't be soon and it won't be easy. Sincere condolences to your family. Joan Lucas Jordan

Our condolences on Herb's passing. May his Soul rest in eternal peace. I believe I may have attended Cal Poly in 1961 and 1962 with Hubert Drake, who lived off Johnson Avenue. Hugh may have been married while attending Cal Poly.

I will always cherish the memories of sunrise coffee and conversation we shared as we began our construction days with the Division of Highways. He was a very kind and gentle friend over our many decades of public service.
