JD Williford

JD Williford, 81, of Paso Robles died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 at his home. Graveside Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005 at the Paso Robles District Cemetery. JD was born on April 12, 1924 in Waxahachie, Texas. He was a Paso Robles resident for the past 50 years, moving from Waco, Texas in 1955. J D was a member of the Teamster union local 381 for 40 years and had an incredible customer support and work ethic that he shared with his co workers and fellow Teamsters After driving heavy equipment and large trucks since he was 13 years old, his favorite pastime was to go for long drives whether it be in his vehicle or motor home. He visited many states and Canada and was always willing to go someplace new, as long as he could drive there. He enjoyed camping and going on hunting trips with his son and grandsons even though he never took a gun. He just enjoyed being part of their experience. JD was greatly loved by his daughters who doted over him constantly and thought the world of him. He was a kind and considerate person who was thought highly of by those who had a chance to get to know him. His wife Dorothy Williford preceded him in death after 52 years of marriage. His wife Vicki Williford survives him along with six children: Tom Williford and his wife Kaye of Paso Robles.; Roy Williford and his wife Martha of Porterville, Calif.; Elizabeth Schmitt and her husband Ron of San Luis Obispo; Donna Bodonovich and her husband Sam of Clovis, Calif.; Judy Painter and her husband Steve of Clovis and Paula Croson also of Clovis. Seven stepchildren also survive him as well as numerous grand children and great grand children. .
