Kenneth Allen Obituary

Kenneth (Ken) Leland Allen

December 29, 1942 - October 10, 2024

Morro Bay, California - Kenneth (Ken) Leland Allen III went to be with the Lord on October 10th, 2024. Ken was born in Carmel, Ca. on 12/29/42. He is predeceased by his mother, Anita Brunner, father, Kenneth Leland Allen Jr and his Aunt, Gerry Brunner and honorary "Aunt" Rita Rougeot. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marie C. Allen, sisters-in-law Margaret Muller and Joanne Carr, nieces Christina Herring (Matthew) and Jennifer Wojturski (Christopher), nephews Jonathan Carr (Tanya Joy) and Christopher Carr (Willaine), in addition to many great nieces and nephews.

Ken graduated from DeVry University and was a pioneer in computer technology. His specific set of skills led to a two-year residency in France training others in his specialized area of expertise and where he and Marie formed lifelong friendships.

Ken's generosity led to his extended family spending many wonderful summer vacations together in Newport Beach, CA where his nieces and nephews formed lifelong bonds. An example of Ken's kindness is the story of how he moved his nephew, Christopher, to UC Berkeley and was seen carrying a mattress on his back through the streets of Berkeley! Ken was famous in his loving family for delighting his nieces and nephews as a master Easter egg hider (if the dogs didn't find them first!). Speaking of dogs, Ken was a devoted dog dad to Ginny, Holly, and Schnitzel. And no one can forget his griiled steaks - which were the best!

Ken and Marie traveled the world including: Africa, the Holy Land, Panama Canal, Germany, Italy and France. Often these trips were led by Fr. Edward Holterhoff and included many dear friends from Morro Bay, which had become their most treasured place to be in the world.

The family would like to express their thanks to Central Coast Hospice and Monarch Care Givers for their professional and loving care. Ken will be deeply missed by all who loved and cherished him.

Services for Ken will be held on Friday, October 25th at 1:00 pm at Nativity of Our Lady, 221 Daly Ave, San Luis Obispo CA 93405

As a relative newcomer to Morro Bay, Ken and Marie Allen were among the first people I met in the community of faithful at St. Timothy´s Church in Morro Bay, led by Pastor Ed Holterhoff. It was a special time.

Ken exuded intelligence, integrity and compassion. He met his health challenges with courage and grace. His devotion to Marie..their devotion to one another...was a model of love and an inspiration. One of my regrets in life is that I did not know Ken in our younger years.
But we will all be reunited in paradise soon enough.

Heaven has another saint, and peace, strength and sincere condolences to Marie and all the family during this difficult time.
