Manuel Macedo Pedreiro Jr. September 11, 1939 to August 30, 2017 Manuel Pedreiro, a resident of Morro Bay, died suddenly yet peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. Born in 1939 in Pico, Azores, Manuel was the eldest of nine children. He served in the Portuguese Army in Angola, Africa and he immigrated to the United States in 1965. Manuel lived most of his life in Hanford, California and moved to the coast of Morro Bay in 1999. Manuel was a hard worker in the dairy business and worked in agriculture for most of his career. While living in Morro Bay, Manuel enjoyed his retirement by fishing almost every day and going to the gym. His best times were spending time with family, going to Portuguese Festas and making wine. Manuel had a vibrant personality, made friends easily and always had a smile for everyone he met. He will be missed greatly by many. Manuel is survived by his wife, Maria Fernanda Castelo; daughter, Alice Gonzales and her husband Louie; son, James Pedreiro and his wife Sally; and son, Mark Pedreiro and his wife Susie; seven grand- children: Nicole, Amber and Joseph Gonzales, Christina Rose Pedreiro, Marina, Bella and Bailey Pedreiro; and great-grandchildren: Rosemary and Aiden Gonzales. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am, Monday, September 11, 2017, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 962 Piney Way, Morro Bay, CA 93442, followed that evening by a Visitation at 5:00 pm, with Rosary at 6:00 pm, both at People's Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA 93230. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 1001 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA 93230, with Burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 S. 10th Ave., Hanford, CA 93230. A Celebration of Manuel's Life will be held at the Fraternal Hall in Hanford.
