San Luis Obispo, California - Mary Anne Emery, 75, passed away in her long time home on May 22, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara (Bailey) Miller and father Sidney Miller, and survived by her son Chuck (Sharla) Emery, Champlin, MN and 3 beloved grandchildren Sierra, Trevor, and Autumn.
Mary was born to Sidney and Barbara (Bailey) Miller in St. Paul, MN and grew up in the Saint Anthony Park neighborhood in NW St. Paul where she graduated from Murray High School. She attended the University of Minnesota and was a member of Gamma Omicron Bata Sorority. She later graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Oregon. Mary lived in London, England for a few years and eventually settled in San Luis Obispo, living in her home for almost 50 years.
Mary was an animal lover, spending her time volunteering at Woods Humane Society and was once named Volunteer of the Year. She also spent several years being a dog walker and pet sitter. Mary also loved the theater and worked for 10+ years as the head stage manager at PCPA - Pacific Conservatory Theater in Santa Maria.
Private family services will be held in St. Anthony, MN where she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Woods Humane Society to honor her love of animals. Mary's generous heart and kind spirit will be truly missed.
