San Luis Obispo, California - Mary Alice Pettit, 93, passed away peacefully at her home, which she lived in most of her life, on July 5, 2024. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, William "Rusty" Pettit. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ethel Adams, and three siblings Paul, Joselin, and Dell.
Mary Alice is survived by her siblings Madge Green, Elizabeth Major, and Ted Adams. She is also survived by her four sons Tom, Mike, Jim, and Joe Pettit, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Mary Alice was greatly loved by all her family and many friends. She treasured her family and valued her friends just like family too. The importance of family and friends to Mary Alice was displayed by picture above her kitchen table that read "Families are Forever". She had a smile that could melt your heart and a country style of elegance that was welcoming and warm. She will be missed by us all.
There will be a memorial service for Mary Alice at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 651 Foothill Blvd. San Luis Obispo at 11:30 a.m. on July 22, 2024. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Los Osos Valley Memorial Park.
