Mollie Culver Obituary

Mollie S. Culver

September 27, 1976 - October 19, 2024

San Luis Obispo, California - Mollie, 48, died October 19th. She struggled against lupus and other medical issues. Mollie was a graduate of both Cuesta College and Cal Poly. She thoroughly enjoyed her work in the political world, engaging in fund raising, event organizing, and campaign strategies for a number of local and state wide political aspirants along with labor organizations. She began her career in Sacramento, relocated to Santa Barbara, and more recently returned to her home town of San Luis Obispo.

Mollie was an animal lover and advocate for a civil tone in politics, one where tolerance and acceptance of diverse views was rewarded. She will be remembered as a compassionate, energetic and engaging person, a wonderful friend to many. As designated by Mollie, her soft tissue and bone donations were made to the Donor Network. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy, and is survived by her father, John, in Durango, CO. Donations can be made to Woods Humane Society (SLO).

We were neighbors to Mollie for a brief period from Jan to July 2024. Mollie was so friendly and welcoming to us newbies in town. Always had nice words to say or relevant news she through would be helpful to share. We were aware that she was suffering but she never let that stop her from living her life - setting up her apartment, grilling a BBQ, and offering her help.

We will miss Mollie. Rest in peace.

Many people are serving and have served in elected office in great part because of Mollie´s skills and talent- including myself. She was one of a kind. A great human being, and friend and counselor. Our hearts are broken.
She will be greatly missed.
RIP Mollie!

Dear Jay,
I´m sending you and all of Mollie´s family my very deepest sympathies in her passing. She was indeed a bright spirit.
I, as a friend of Nancy´s, knew Mollie when she was a child.
May her memory and spirit ever be a light in your life/lives.
Sincerely,
Miki Gillman

Mollie and I were part of a Congressional team a decade ago that stretched across the Central Coast. She was energetic and smart and so generous - always with a ready smile. Mollie was a loyal friend as well as a colleague. I will always be grateful for her many gifts.

Mollie and I shared a birthday, so for years I'd send her a birthday message to remind her I was thinking of her on her special day.
Mollie will be remembered for her determination and strong will, and her willingness to work with diverse groups to achieve a common goal. Though always busy, she took the time to share her knowledge with so many.
For years Mollie strived to assure care for her mom, Nancy, during difficult times. Over and over Mollie reenforced my belief that memories of love will lead our actions.
I add my name to the many who benefited from having Mollie in our lives.
My love goes out to Jay and all those who loved Mollie.

I am so sorry to hear of Mollie's death. She was such a great and supportive worker and we depended on her for all the things that she was so good at. She made me laugh, too. Mollie, you left us far too soon.

Mollie was a bright light in my life when I needed it most. Her warmth and hospitality were unmatched- her door was always open and her face always had a smile. She gave me the gift of her time and her friendship. I can´t believe she is gone.

Our lives diverged like rivers do, flowing on to meet in the ocean´s waters. I will see you again, my friend, when my journey too is done.
