June 25, 1939 - June 2, 2023
Los Osos, California - Our dear mother Suzanne "Molly" Burke sadly passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 after a very brief struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was a matriarch in her family and a pillar in her community. She had friends all over the state, many of whom came to see her before she died. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Philip Alan Burke and is survived by her children Maureen Burke, Dan Burke and Amy and Andre Bessette, her grandchildren Katie and Kelly Meeder, Burke and Vivian Bessette, Royal and Lucienne Burke, her Stokes family and many friends.
Molly Burke was born in Oakland, CA on June 25, 1939 to Barbara and Richard Stokes and was the eldest daughter of 11 children. She attended Holy Names High School and graduated in 1956. Molly had several careers in her life including secretary, interior designer, drug and rehabilitation counselor, real estate broker and an ordained teacher of Kriya Yoga for Awakening Meditation Center in Los Osos, CA. Helping people was her true passion.
She married Philip Alan Burke on August 6, 1966. They raised their children in Los Gatos, CA and eventually retired to the the Central Coast.
Molly will be remembered always for her strength, bravery, spirituality and her insatiable curiosity that drove her all her life. Molly will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Wilshire Hospice in San Luis Obispo donations are encouraged in lieu of flowers.

I met Molly in May 2016 at the Avila Beach Community Center yoga class. She was always so thoughtful and helped a friend of mine, when her husband passed. My brother also died of Pancreatic Cancer February of this year. May she rest in peace.
