Oma Scott-Moore Obituary

Oma Gem Scott-Moore, 72, of San Luis Obispo, died after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011. Born in August 1939 in Buffalo, Texas, she and her father, mother and brother moved to Huron, Calif., in 1952. Oma attended high school in Coalinga, Calif., where she excelled and was on the Dean''s List. After high school, she married and moved to Nipomo. While her children were young, she was a stay at home mother. After her children got a little older, she continued her education and became a well-respected accountant. The later part of her career focused on the wine industry. The family would like to thank Tracy, Luiza, Megan, Jane, Dr. Villa, Dr. Gilroy and the many more that were there when mom needed you most. Surviving Oma are her daughters Sheila Henley (Brian Roth) and Janice Paschal; son, Cliff Henley (Colleen); grandchildren Travis Shelby, Tanya Mueller (Greg), Jennifer Loux, Jessica Loux, Sara San Juan (Stephen), Christopher Loux, Chad Henley, Chelsea Henley, Chase Anderson and Skyler Anderson; three great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Moore; and an incredible friend and companion, Richard Hartvikson. Preceding her in death were her mother, Earlean Pritchard; and three grandsons Paul, Adam and Patrick Loux. In August 2011, Oma enjoyed an incredible "Celebration of Life." The family held a private memorial service at Santa Maria District Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please honor Oma by donating to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast OR Hearst Cancer Resource Center. We love you mama ... spread your wings and fly.
