Robert Pisenti Obituary

Robert Pisenti Robert "Bob" Pisenti, longtime resident of Templeton, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Bob was born in Paso Robles on February 17, 1938. He retired from the Laborer's Union Local 1464 in 1987 and from the Atascadero State hospital in 2000. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962, and was a proud member of the Templeton American Legion Post 220. He enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends, playing poker with his Legion buddies, hunting and was an avid fisherman. Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary; daughters: Sonya Rankin, April (Shawn) Silva of Templeton and Monica Pisenti of Santa Barbara; grandchildren: Robert and Madison Silva and Sophia and Lucas Navarrette; cousins: Randy Garcia (Cheryl) of Magalia, Mike Garcia (Tina) of Templeton, Connie Young (Mike) of Paso Robles, Lawrence Barba (Diane) of San Jose and Dee Hartley (Jim) of Florence, Oregon; sisters-in-law: Juanita Ballesteros of Oceano, Leonore Ballesteros of Grover Beach, Corkie Lee (Jim) of San Marcos, Emily Ryan of Minden, Nev. and Rosie Alderson (Sam, longtime friend) of Templeton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lorena Pisenti; his brother, Dennis Pisenti; and several uncles, aunts and cousins. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Templeton American Legion Hall, 805 S. Main St., Templeton, Calif. Interment will be at the Templeton Cemetery with a reception immediately following at the Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following: Alzheimer's Association, 3232 S. May you take comfort in the memories of how Bob lived his life and how you provided him a safe and loving environment during his illness. Being a caretaker to an Alzheimer's patient is one of the most difficult and challenging tasks that a family can endure.
