Maria, CA. Roy was born in 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Margaret and Andrew Cinowalt and is survived by his wife Kathy, son Eric, grandchildren Isabella and Wesley, siblings Daniel, MaryAnn, Susan and Patricia.
Roy spent his early years in Pittsburgh. After high school graduation, he entered the local apprenticeship program and became a journeyman steamfitter. He then moved to California where he worked 32 years for Los Angeles County, designing, installing, and repairing heating and air conditioning systems in many of the civic center buildings.
Roy loved retirement and living in San Luis Obispo County, enjoying the beautiful outdoors and friendly people. His hobbies were bicycling, walking, gardening, reading, property management and working on home improvement projects. He liked nothing better than attending classic car shows, spending the day perusing the cars and chatting with the owners. He was an enthusiastic member of Retired Active Men's Club (RAM's).
Roy volunteered for various groups, including Morro Bay Beautiful, Morro Bay Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the SLO County Clerk Recorder's Office.
He enjoyed many happy hours visiting his son and grandchildren in Oregon where he helped work the land, taming the wild blackberries and creating a farm in a place of peace and beauty.
