Sharon Mesker Obituary
September 17, 1935 - August 19, 2023
San Luis Obispo, California - Sharon Elizabeth Mesker (née Hoyt) passed in her sleep August 19th, one month short of her 88th birthday. Sharon was a friend to all with a genuine warm, caring, and loving nature. She had the gift of empathy and intuitively sensed when someone needed comfort or healing. Fiercely loyal to her children and family, her friends, her church, her country, she always put others before herself. A die-hard Trojan football fan, she loved Sinatra, jazz, musicals, the theater, and a good steak. Sharon led a rich, bountiful, and satisfying life of unconditional love.
Sharon's spirit lives on in her children Tracey, Mike, and Chris and her grandchildren Mandi, Nick, Callie, Hailey, Tanner, Matthew, and their spouses/significant others Kevin, Amanda, Kirk, Greyson, and Brad; her great-grandchildren Raelynn, Warren, Sayler, Mayzee, Jasper, Odin; her companion Ray; her sisters-in-law Phyllis, Joan; her former spouse Dave; and her beloved Mesker and Unity families.
Family preceding her include father Barney, mother Millie, brother Peter, beloved son-in-law Mike, and cherished grandson Tyler who will dance her into the light.
Sharon requested a celebration, which will be held October 1st at the SLO Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to UnitySLO.com, SLORep.org, or anywhere that speaks to your passions.

For more than 30 years Sharon Mesker was my dearest and closest friend. She served as office manager at Unity of San Luis Obispo, and worked side by side with me every day throughout those years. Her loving nature, along with her loyal and generous spirit caused her to be known as the "heart of Unity."
Sharon was also a loving grandma to my son Matthew, and made sure she attended all his performances and special occasions. This meant a great deal to Matthew.
Sharon was a special presence to a great many people, and she will always continue to live in our hearts.
