Stephen Sacca Obituary

Stephen P. Sacca, age 70, of Arroyo Grande, Calif. passed May 6, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. Born October 1946, in Lockport, New York, he was the son of the late Steven and Jeanne Sacca. At age 9 Steve moved to Southern California with his parents. As a young man, he joined the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam conflict and honorably served his country in Okinawa, Japan. It was in Okinawa that Steve became an air traffic controller and later put those skills to work at LAX arrivals. During his life, he also worked as a stockbroker, financial controller and computer programmer. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and flying radio controlled airplanes, for which he won many competitive awards (flying not golfing). He could be found in his garage many times tinkering with his planes and listening to all genres of music. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Janice Sacca; his beloved children: Dean Sacca of Kalispell, Mont. and Stephanie (Dakota) Bailey of Arroyo Grande, Calif. A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held at 10:00 am, June 2, 2017, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 501 Fair Oaks Avenue Arroyo Grande. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Central Coast Hospice, 253 Granada Dr. D, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
