Barbara Ruth Bonner

1937 - 2022

Barbara Barbara Ruth Bonner, 84, of Wimberley, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 15 , 2022. She was born on August 23, 1937, to Alvin and Floice Schroeder in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

After graduating from Henrietta High School, she then attended North Texas State University before moving to Wichita Falls, Texas. On June 19, 1959, she married Carl Dariel Baker.

In 1986, Barbara married Stayton Montgomery Bonner in Wichita Falls then moved to Wimberley in 1988. They both became active in their community, including being founding members of Wimberley Presbyterian Church. She loved her women's bible study group, enjoyed volunteering at The Village Store, exercise groups, walks around her neighborhood with friends, and most of all her "Sewing Group/Lunch Bunch."

She is preceded in death by her husband Stayton Montgomery Bonner, Carl Dariel Baker, grandson Bryan Harrison Baker, and granddaughter Jessica Elise McCarter.

She is survived by her two children, Bryan Baker (Elizabeth) of Douglasville, Georgia and Jennifer McCarter(Terry) of Seymour, Tennessee; sister Reva Jean Beck of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Madeleine Fields (Landon) of Gate City, Virginia, Lauren McCarter of Seymour, and nephews David and Charles Beck of Dallas/Fort Worth.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, February 23 at Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley from 4 to 6 p.m. Services will take place Thursday, February 24 at Wimberley Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Clint Regen will officiate. A graveside service will take place Friday, February 25 at Riverside Cemetery in Wichita Falls at 1 p.m., with Reverend Mike Butterworth officiating.
