Blanche McMullen Obituary

Blanche Mann McMullen, 79, of San Marcos, TX, passed away on January 19, 2026 after a 14-year battle with cancer. Born on October 13, 1946 in Memphis, TN, Blanche's life was defined by her love of family, her selflessness, her strong faith, and her commitment to her church community.

Blanche was raised in Brownsville, TN as the youngest child of Carl & Margaret Mann. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1969 with a degree in Education. She taught school for over 25 years, retiring in 2007.

Blanche's love for her family was the foundation of her life. She was a loving wife to her husband of 55 years, Randy McMullen, Sr. A devoted sibling to her three sisters, Carolyn Ronk, Peggy Korn, & Betsy Thornton. A nurturing mother to her three children and their spouses, Michael McMullen and his wife Lauren, Randy McMullen Jr. and his wife Tracy, and Julie McMullen Bolduc and her husband Brad. And a doting grandmother to her six grandchildren - Taylor McMullen, Reese McMullen, Haley Bolduc, Ellie McMullen, Kyle Bolduc, & Tate McMullen. Her family was her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the importance of compassion, integrity, and putting the needs and well-being of others before her own.

Blanche was a woman of great faith, and the church community at First Baptist Church in San Marcos, TX was a very important part of her life. Blanche's legacy within her church is one of service and fellowship.

Throughout her battle with cancer, Blanche's spirit never wavered. Her resilience and positivity were an example to everyone in her life.

Blanche is preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles H. McMullen and Francis Pond McMullen, and her oldest sister Carolyn Ronk.

As we bid farewell to Blanche Mann McMullen, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in the loving arms of God. She has left behind a legacy of love, a blueprint for living a life of purpose, and a clear path for us all to follow. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.

Services will take place Saturday, January 31 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in San Marcos. Interment will follow at San Marcos City Cemetery. What a true gift it was to call Blanche my friend and coworker. She was such a delight to teach with and I have such fond appreciation for her kindness and friendship. My deepest condolences to her beautiful family.

Blanche and I taught at De Zavala Elementary. We were in the same unit. We, along with Sandra Brown, Karen Voss and the others in our unit taught 3rd grade for years. We had a bond and together we taught countless students. After her retirement we would see each other at HEB and pick up where we left off talking about things and people we had in common. She was a true friend, a wonderful teacher and a lovely human being. I will miss her smile. May she rest in peace.
