Charles Terry Allen

1939 - 2025

Charles Terry Allen, affectionately known as Terry or TA, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on May 10, 1939, to Charles H. and Ruth Gatliff Allen, Terry's life was a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and his unwavering devotion to family.

Terry graduated from San Marcos High School in 1957. It was there he met the love of his life, Letha Ann Blaschke. They were married on September 12, 1959, and shared 65 beautiful years together before Letha preceded him in death in February 2025. A true businessman, Terry's career was as diverse as his interests, ranging from car and Jeep dealerships to real estate to owning and operating the Riverside Lodge in Red River, New Mexico. He enjoyed travelling with Letha, card games, adding to his various collections, particularly collections centered around his lifelong love of the American West. Terry will be remembered for his hard work, quick mind, and love of a good conversation.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Terry is survived by his children, Cindy Swagerty and her husband Craig, and Becky Allen and her husband Michael Hearne. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Nicole Rehm and her husband Charlie Wenger, Rachael Rehm, and Allen Swagerty. Terry will be dearly missed by his beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a multitude of friends.

Visitation is Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Pennington Funeral Home, 323 N. Comanche St., San Marcos, Texas. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church, 129 W. Hutchison St., San Marcos, Texas.
