Cruz Salazar Villarreal

1942 - 2025

Cruz Salazar Villarreal, 83, was called by the Lord on October 28th, 2025, in the comfort of her home. Born in Martindale, Texas on April 10, 1942, Cruz spent her career in food services with San Marcos ISD until her retirement. She spent her summers working for Southside Community Center providing hearty meals for missionary campers and the local community. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A natural provider at her core, Cruz touched countless lives during her time here on earth. She will be remembered to those closest to her as a selfless, nurturing provider with a witty sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Antonia Salazar, Husband Angel Villarreal, Brother and Sisters Juan, Mariano, Julian, Hipolito, Guadalupe, Beatrice, Grandchild Eric Villela and great grandchild Sofia Lara - Ventura. She is survived by her two sisters Tomasa Rameriz, Elvira Parra; her five children - Dolores Villarreal, Michael Villarreal (wife Judy Villarreal), Belinda Lara (husband Gabriel Lara), Christine Chamness (husband Chad Chamness), and Richard Villarreal (wife Marisela Villarreal); her twelve grandchildren - Victor Jospeh Rodriguez, Ashley Villela, Christopher Villarreal, Eustacio Lara, Patrick Villarreal, Gabriella Lara, Ramsey Tijerina, Michaela Villarreal, Noah Tijerina, Angelica Villarreal, Sarah Villarreal and Chole Chamness; her seven great grandchildren - Lillianah Rodriguez, Athena Hernandez, Victor Joseph Rodriguez Jr., Alisha Hernandez, Troy Rodriguez, Aubrey Hernandez and Eric Villarreal

Visitation will be held on Thursday November 06th, 2025 at 5pm at St. John's Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited that evening at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday November 7th, 2025 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park on Hwy. 80 in San Marcos.
