Elijio Vijarro Obituary
December 1, 1943 - May 11, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elijio "Mr. Lee" Vijarro Sr., who left us peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025-Mother's Day. He was 81 years old.
Born in Piedras Negras, Mexico, Elijio made his home in San Marcos, Texas, where he lived for 58 years alongside his beloved wife of 58 years. A self-made man in every sense, he proudly referred to himself as a "Carpentologist"-a master craftsman with knowledge far beyond his formal education. Though he only completed up to the 7th grade, he had an expert's grasp of blueprints, plumbing, and electrical work, and he built a life with his hands and heart.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Elijio is survived by his wife, Eufrasia Vijarro, four children, Laura, Elizabeth, Elijio Jr. and Edward, eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. His love for family was boundless and evident in everything he did. Whether offering advice, a warm embrace, or a perfectly built project, he was always there, steady and strong.
He will be remembered for his wisdom, humor, work ethic, and the deep pride he took in caring for those he loved. His legacy is one of love, craftsmanship, and unwavering dedication. We love you dad and we hope you know how much you are loved.
Visitation is Tuesday, May 13, 2025, 5:00-8:00pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00pm at Pennington Funeral Home, 323 N Comanche St., San Marcos, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 624 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos, Texas. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale, Texas.
