Dearly-loved son, brother and uncle, Brendan Leahy passed away on June 13, at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz at the age of 52. Although leaving us many years too soon, his love, compassion, and friendship will endure in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed.
Born on June 22, 1955 in Chico, California, Brendan attended elementary school in Germany. After the family moved to La Porte, Texas, Brendan went to La Porte High School, where he ran track, charmed us playing Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, and graduated in 1973. After high school he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis in Solar Technology from CSU, Chico.
As a boy, Brendan always loved the outdoors and nature, participating in Boy Scouts and developing a special love for the ocean that led him to become a certified scuba diver. As an adult, his love for the outdoors continued. He hiked to the top of Mt. Shasta and enjoyed spending time in Butte Meadows, one of his favorite places.
Brendan was well-liked by just about everyone who met him. He was sociable and friendly, deeply spiritual, intelligent and hardworking, and always wanted to help others. As a licensed contractor, he used his construction knowledge to offer advice and assistance to family and friends and provided high quality craftsmanship.
He is survived by his loving family: parents Linda Leahy Chico and Daniel Leahy and Lynne Anderson Pocatello, Idaho, brother Kevin Leahy Felton, sister, brother-in-law and nieces Maureen Leahy and John, Lindy and Annika Edstrom Chico, brother and sister-in-law John and Denise Leahy San Jose, sister and brother-in-law Michelle Leahy and John O'Shaughnessy San Bruno, niece Corinne Leahy Santa Cruz and nephew Sean Leahy Redwood City.

To a good friend whom I had lost contact with. I hope God showed you the way and pray that you are with him now.
