Christopher Warren Heeter
Chris passed away unexpectedly at his home of 30 years.
Born to Robert and Carol Heeter of Saratoga; Chris grew up alongside the beloved Saratoga creek where he became a lover of all things in nature. He became a renowned body surfer as he gravitated to the coast. Throughout his life he remained drawn to the ocean, waves and the many people who adored his free spirit.
Chris was preceded in death by his loving mother Carol. He is survived by his daughter Emily, granddaughter Jade, father Bob (95), brother Doug (Heidi), and sister Susie (Steve).
Chris will be celebrated on Nov. 3, 1pm on the beach at 14th Ave. Santa Cruz, CA.

I'm so sorry to hear of Chris' passing and am crushed I did not hear about the memorial in time to attend. Chris was one of the funniest people I've ever known. I will miss him immensely. Sincere heart felt condolences to Mr. Heeter, Doug and Susie.

Chris and I lived at Its Beach through most of the late 80's. Chris was always there with his daughter, Emily, and his Dog, Auggi. I remember a particular day when the swell turned on, and we were the only ones down on the beach. The waves were over head and glassy. We put on our wetsuits and grabbed our fins, and headed out. I used to have an old Minolta Weathermatic 110. I grabbed that too. I took a shot of him on a wave, but he seemed to be having more fun taking pictures. He took several good ones of me that day. We traded waves for awhile until the wind picked up. The waves disappeared. It was just a magical moment for two beach bums. I'll always remember his laugh. A good friend. R.I.P. Amigo

Chris and his smile - Chris and his love of ocean and mountains - Chris and his soft spoken words of his daughter, Emily and her child, Jade. Chris loved his family, and his way!
Harsh and sweet, living proud and generous in the beach cabin of all times - Chris is loved and has left for God.
I am sadden and know he is in a conversation with the Angels. Prayers to heaven Chris.
