She and her husband filled their retirement years golfing with friends, traveling extensively to visit family and friends, as active parishioners at the Boulder Creek United Methodist Church and being active participants in both Lions Club work as well as other community projects.
"My mother was such a special woman. She loved her husband and each of her children incredibly and always made us feel so very special. She valued each of her children's uniqueness and never wavered in her support of our dreams and goals. She once told me that one of the scariest of life's events for her was when her last parent (her mother) died and she realized that she was no longer anyone's child. While my sisters and I may have understood that on an intellectual level, it is only now that we can begin to fathom what that feels like emotionally. Our 'dear Marmee' - we will hold her in our memories and hearts for always," her daughter Rochelle said.
She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Donna and Pat Quinn of Pensacola, FL, Karen and Jim Kline of Riverside, CA and Rochelle and Jack Davies of Boulder Creek, her sister Eve Bernardi of Van Nuys, CA and brothers John D., Pete and Tommy Barfoot of Sneads, FL., her seven grandchildren, Nancy Widener, Wesley Hardy, Todd, Mark, Chris and Noah Quinn and Julie Brady, her 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Her sister Voncile and brothers Fred, Pat and Bruce preceded her in death. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the spring. The family prefers that a memorial contribution, in lieu of flowers, be given either to the Hospice Caring Project of Santa Cruz County, P O Box 670, Aptos, CA 95001 or the Boulder Creek United Methodist Church, P O Box 2187, Boulder Creek, CA 95006.

Aunt "Tab" (as she was so lovingly known to us) was a very dear lady. Many of my earliest memories are of her visits, along with Uncle Don, to Florida. Separated by many miles, but so connected by family & love. She will be missed from coast to coast.
