No services will be held for Deborah Gay Krieg nee Haxton, native of Santa Cruz and resident of Aptos. Mrs. Krieg died at Dominican Hospital on July 7, at 55 years of age. She was a life long resident of the Santa Cruz area. She attended West Lake Elementary, Mission Hill, and Santa Cruz High Schools. She received a Bachelors degree from UCSC in earth sciences.
Mrs. Krieg was employed for many years by the State of California, first by the Department of Employment and then by the Employment Development Department.
Mrs. Krieg had been widowed for many years. She is survived by two brothers- Dr. Michael Haxton of Torrance, California and Dr. Wick Haxton of Seattle, Washington and two nephews-Dr. Daniel Haxton of Boulder, Colorado and Thomas Haxton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Krieg will be cremated and buried at sea. As she loved animals, in lieu of flowers, contributions to local animal shelters would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel.
