Dondee Nettles was born on 11/5/45 and left us on 4/10/09, Good Friday.
Texas gave us this romantic when he was only 8...he never looked back. His loves defined him, and he loved: Judy, his/all children, animals, music, family, friends, the ocean, wilderness and all living creatures. About his loves he was fearless, loyal, and courageous. He knew the secret language of birds, and healed all animals that found him. Jeans and t-shirts all the way his southern roots assured us we were in the presence of a gentleman.
Those who knew him agreed his spirit was huge. Though he was gentle and quiet his love created sounds and rendered pictures not one of us will ever forget. His entrepreneurial spirit was genius, inspired and used to care for others. Sharing his genius put others to work, gave them hope, and changed their lives forever. The depth of his generosity was remarkable and no one knew by Dondee's account that he gave so much. He took no pleasure in applause, he was truly a "behind the scenes guy". There is more to Dondee than there is room to write. His battle with cancer was long and hard. His fight was good, courageous and we will miss him forever.
For you Dondee: May the winds of heaven sing that your sweet soul is home at last.

Even though I didn't keep in touch over the years you were remembered often, very much in fondness and love. I got the privilege of knowing you in you in our youth and what a great time we had. Your charm, wit and always a gentlemen what can I say you left a huge imprint on my heart and now it has such a hole in it with your loss just when I found you again. I was so pleased you took my phone call we had a great chat so good to hear your voice again and your laughter and to know God was with you in this. I know He met you with open arms and said "Well done my good and faithful servant". I know I will see you again so until then you will be remembered through the memories we shared together and with much love.
