Dorothy Marie Strunk

Resident of Pleasanton
Dorothy (Matousek) Strunk peacefully departed this world at the age of 87. Born in Stratton, NE, Dorothy moved with her family to California as a child. She graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1942, and during WWII and the years following worked first at Camp McQuade and then Fort Ord. In 1952 she married the love of her life, John Strunk. They settled in Santa Clara where they raised their four children. Dorothy was an active member of St. Justin's Parish Community for many years. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, John, children Anne, Stephen, Mary and Michael, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 9, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Livermore, CA. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz at 1:30 p.m.
