Gary William Lords, devoted father and family man, passed away unexpectedly last week at his home in Santa Cruz. He was 58. Services are 11 AM on Friday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 5140 N Fruit Avenue in Fresno.
Gary was well known for his love of entertaining, whether by cooking extravagant meals or by telling jokes and stories to his family and many friends. Gary was passionate about golf, fishing and playing fantasy football. He enjoyed playing crosswords, dominos and card games with his family. The number one priority in his life was always his devotion to his friends and family.
He was born and raised in Fresno. He graduated from Bullard High School in Fresno where he played football and baseball. He was the owner and operator of Lords Enterprises of Fresno. After moving to Santa Cruz in 2000, he became employed as an account manager by Sambrailo Packing Company.
Gary was preceded in death by his father Virgil "Bill" Lords and very recently by his mother Bonnie Lords. He is survived by his daughters Tiffanie Lords of Fresno and Brooke Lords of San Francisco; his brother Bob Lords and Bob's wife Sue, their children Robby, Bonnie and Katie all of Bakersfield; as well as an uncle, aunt and cousins.
Gary's daughters will carry on his enthusiasm for great food and love of family.

Hi my name is Malissa Rose. I met Gary when I was about 7 years old. His daughter Tiffanie and I took dance classes together for years. I remember the times of going to Santa Cruz with the family and he was always so frusterated trying to get ALL of my bags in the back of the car. Also he was a great cook, although at the the age I was I probably didn't appreciate how great the food really was. He was a great man and a wonderful father and will be missed. I wish Tiff and Brooke out deepest condolences and you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Love Miss

Hi! My name is Stephanie Hines.Gary and I have gone from Ruth Gibson Elementary all the way though Bullard High. What I know about Gary is he was the most handsome guy in the world in 6th grade-but Nora Groves was he girl-On to Tenaya Jr High and Gary was always so nice and such a gentleman even at the ripe age of 12! Keep in mind, the Twist (by Chubby Checker)was one of the new dances-Then came Bullard High School.I see him just as calm and collective as can be.He must have had a wondeful family while growing up! I remember he'd look me straight in the eyes when we talked. He really cared about what I was saying. Alot of my piers wouldn't take the time like he did. These are my memories of Gary Lords. What a great man! How proud you must be to have had him for your Dad!! Very sincerely, Stevee (Stephanie Hines)Malone
