James Cook
Oct. 15, 1971-April 19, 2014
Resident of Scotts Valley
James Jay Cook II, 42, of Scotts Valley, passed away April 19th, 2014, at the VA Palo Alto Health Care Hospital.
He joined the United States Air Force in 1994 and did three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was injured in combat and left the service highly decorated.
He is survived by his son Max, with Crystal Cook; brother John Burt, his wife Megan and niece Kathrynn; his sister Michele Cook, with Brian and her children Breanna, Louise, Robert, Lane, Garrett, Lily, and Levi; and friends from school, military, and his life's travels.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 12th at San Joaquin Valley National Military Cemetery.

Jay was always a happy person n s great guy. I remember always seeing him smiling st school. I was glad to find him on facebook and got to see him again n talk with him n to see what a wonderful man n father he had become. My condolences to his family and to his brave little man Max. There is a palpable void, and I think about Jay on a daily basis. I was lucky to call him friend and will miss having him to bounce ideas around. Jay showed every kind of bravery a human can. Peace.
