Jerry Blinkenberg Obituary

Jerry M. Blinkenberg passed away January 1, in the San Jose Regional Medical Center as a result of a vehicular accident. Age 31 years, a native of Santa Cruz, CA. A Boulder Creek resident who had worked as an electronics technician for Lockheed. He is survived by his mother Carol Chastain of Mariposa and his father George Blinkenberg of Santa Cruz. Survived by three brothers John Blinkenberg of Santa Cruz, Mike Francis of Felton, and Chris Francis of Ben Lomond; 2 sisters Gina Tilker of Texas and Tami Ball of Santa Cruz; aunts and uncles Bonnie & Chuck Reese of Santa Cruz, Betty and Dale Shannon of Clear Lake, Arlene and Ross Price of Nevada, Judy and Jim Blinkenberg of Sacramento and J.R. Blinkenberg of Santa Cruz; and cousins Robert, Mike & Deb, Cheryl and David, Dede & Kevin, Rick and Barbara, James Eric and Cheryl, Jeff & Anna, Jenn & Charlie, Becky and Mark, and Julie & Jason and Mark and Missie. He was a graduate of Santa Cruz High School; was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Friends may visit the Davis Memorial Chapel in Watsonville on Sunday, Jan. 8th, 3 to 6p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Davis Memorial Chapel on Monday Jan. 9th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Pioneer Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Jerry's name to the Mt. Holland's Opus Foundation, 15125 Ventura Blvd. Ste. 204, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403.

It was yr birthday the past 30th. I didn't forget, but my pc was down. You keep making part of our lifes.
Kids are growing fast. I use to say to Telmo that he is already getting old...
Filipa is a beautiful girl and Manuel is a little sad. His older sister died the 23 November. She was an angel too.

Time goes fast! Qimonda is closed and 1400 people are without their jobs. Telmo and Filipa are growing and living home. Manuel and me spend more and more time alone. Here it is Christmas again, I am thinking of you and how much you loved the holidays. I'll never forget the huge 10ft scotch pine Christmas tree that we had the first year in the Plateau house. Jerry and I visited Morro Bay several times when he was somewhere around 10-12-14 yrs old. We played miniture golf in Cambria, went on the tours at the Hurst Castle, bought shells and cool stuff at the stores up and down the wharf in Morro Bay. He loved that big old rock, and we would walk on the beach or sometimes sit out on the sand for hours and just look at it and talk. One year for his birthday we were there and he asked if he could have any thing he wanted for dinner...he decided to try lobster. And of course he loved it!! On our way home I thought, OH NO....what have I done. He never passed up a chance to hit me up for lobster after that. I love the wonderful memories I have of my son Jerry. It is your birthday and I will remember the day you were born forever! Aunt Bettie came over to take care of us and I ate too many green onions and got a stomach ache. I remember mom waking me up to tell me she was going to the hospital and me wondering why - duh! On Jerry's birthday I remember him with both smiles and tears. He was an 8lb bundle of joy, with such brilliant blue eyes and a smile for everyone. He brought with him a passion for life that we were all soon to witness in everything he did! I can't believe it has been 6 months already since Jer left our lives... oh such an empty spot he has left behind! I feel his spirit with me in everything I do and see those twinkling blue eyes and wonderful smile helping me through the rough spots. How very much I missed getting a big hug on mother's day and hearing his voice. We miss him so much at family get togethers...his absence is felt so strongly and obviously that it crashes down on us all and suffocates our spirit. Anger has started to replace sadness and disbelief at times which just adds another dimension to my grief. I just miss Jerry so much and am so sad that all the children in our family will grow up without him. I love you Jer....mom

I am so happy I was able to spend time with you this last Christmas. Seeing you after all of these years was a wonderful Christmas surprise. My children had the opportunity in meeting one of the kindest individuals I think I have ever known. I wish they had the chance to grow up and have you in their life. You were such a gentle soul with a disposition in life that brought joy to everyone who knew you. I miss you very much.

So, life goes on

Valentim's Day is also my birthday and I went with my husband and my two kids to a restaurant a like very much.

The same restaurant we took you on 2004 Christmas week, where the photo Telmo submitted was taken.

It was so sad!

I couldn´t stop remember you at this restaurant. You enjoyed the food, but there was a man with a guitar and we laught so much because you said " Oh my god what is he doing? He is not playing music he is killing that poor guitar".And you told us about you playing guitar and the kind of music you liked.

I visit almost everyday your guest book to learn more about you.

Someone told me that we should not cry because it ended but smile because it happened.

It is so difficult!
