Kelly Davis Obituary

Kelly Diane Davis, age 61, passed away tragically on March 30, 2023 in Ben Lomond, California. She was born in Brunswick, Georgia, on December 10, 1961, to Robert and Diane Davis. As a part of a military family, she experienced many new cultures and friends, having lived in California, Okinawa, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Virginia, Maine, Minnesota, and Guam. Kelly connected to these new communities through music, specifically with her mastery of the oboe. She played in the Guam Symphony, Cabrillo College Orchestra, Twin Lakes Orchestra, and the Watsonville Band. Additionally, she was hired as a musician for special events, and taught private music lessons. She was also adept at teaching herself other instruments, such as flute and clarinet. Music was a part of her soul. After graduating from Harbor High School, Kelly served in the U.S. Navy as an Aerographer's Mate. She left the military, attended Cabrillo College and San Jose State University, where she earned a B.S in Environmental Science. Indeed someone who loved to research and learn new things, Kelly shared her passion as a math and reading tutor. As one who found solace in nature, she would spend many hours hiking and biking through the forests of Henry Cowell, and near the San Lorenzo River. Her kitties, Mithea and Joey brought much joy to her life.Kelly also cared about the people in her community. As a member of St. Lawrence Orthodox Christian Church in Felton, she spent extended time helping clean up and fix things around the church. She took time to check in with church members, give them a hug, play with their children, and share her joy and laughter. Kelly will be dearly missed by her family, especially her humor and the sounds of her laughter. She is survived by her father, Robert Bruce Davis; mother, Mary Diane Davis; sisters Catherine L. Davis, Robin F. Davis; brothers, David B. Davis, Robert B. Davis Jr.; 6 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 aunts, and 1 uncle. Funeral services were held for Kelly at St. Lawrence Orthodox Christian Church on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was laid to rest at the Felton Cemetery.

When I walked my two dogs in Scott´s Valley or Felton, I´d often run into Kelly, and she would shower them with love and attention. They adored her as well because they knew treats would inevitably be soon forthcoming! Kelly had such a curious, inquiring mind, and we shared many interesting conversations as we walked together. So very sad to hear of her tragic passing...May she RIP...

Entire Davis Family,
I was so, so sorry to hear of the tragic loss of Kelly. I did not know her well but as the poet John Donne wrote, "Each man's (or woman's) death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind."
No words can ease your pain but I do hope that time, wonderful memories, and the love of each other eventually help.
with deepest sympathy,
sara munday

I am so sorry for the tragic loss of Kelly- what a beautiful soul! As a lifelong friend of her sister Robin Davis I had met Kelly a few times- and "yes" those giggle fits that only two loving sisters can enjoy happened often. My love and prayers to her siblings and mom and dad.

She was KellyBelly to me. We shared a sense of humor that put us into fits of giggles. I learned to accept her as she was, loving her because of it. I miss her texts. When I swim, she is there with me, enjoying the tranquility of being immersed in the water. I miss her texts. I do miss you KellyBelly.
