Kenneth Lyford Obituary

Kenneth Lyford
August 1, 1954 - April 25, 2014
Fall River Mills, CA
Kenneth Selden Lyford passed away Friday April 25th at the age of 59 in Fall River Mills, Ca. Ken was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle and good friend to all that knew him.
Ken was born to Constance and Selden Lyford in San Mateo in 1956. He was raised in the Soquel Mountains, where he grew a passion for fishing, hunting, and all sport activities at an early age. He was known to be the life of the party and a loyal devoted friend to many.
He graduated from Soquel High in 1972 and married classmate Terri Rogers at their home in the Santa Cruz Mountains in 1980.
In 1992, Ken moved to Fall River Mills in Northern California where he continued his love for the outdoors while raising his family in the country. A hard worker and a master craftsman, he took pride in building beautiful homes all over California.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Terri Lyford, daughters Casey and Jodi, sister Beth and brothers Steve and Mike.
Ken was and is a living legend. He lives on in our memories of him and stories we all share. Larger than life, a friend to all, a hard worker with a heart of gold, but above all… a true family man.
Please join us to celebrate his life at the Corralitos Community Center, Sunday, July 20th @ 1pm
Donations can be made to Tri Counties Bank Account #162090124

Ken was always happy and giving of his time. He loved to tease Beth, Diane and I when we drove off to spend our summer evenings at the Boardwalk! Your spirit will live on.

My brother was amazing man and really larger then life. I always looked up to him and he taught by example. His girls were the loves of his life and he was so very proud of them always. Ken loved the out of doors with Hunting, Fishing, Baseball or a good concert, Ken always had a smile on his face. His eyes and smile could light up any room and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

I know that I will miss Ken everyday and that he is now with our Mom & Dad. I love you Ken and will miss you all of the days of my life.

Your Sister,
Beth

I'll always miss that big smile and bear-paw of a handshake and that bellowing "Hey Hodge" when ever we got together. See y'all at the ceremony. Kenny Jay

I couldn't have asked for a more fun loving hilarious and fun uncle. I will remember my uncle ken as always being in a good mood and life of the party. One of my favorite of many memories was when he would tell us scarry stories before bed when we were little. He was so animated and into the story, and it was never TOO scarry. :) he made everything fun. I miss him a lot. I take comfort in knowing that he was the kind of person that everyone who knew him has fun, hilarious, exciting, and touching stories to tell and share for years and years to come. My aunt terry and my beautiful cousins are in my thoughts daily. Sending so much love. ??

I'm so sorry to hear that Ken has died. Though I haven't seen you all in years, Ken was a fun part of my childhood memories. After high school he volunteered to coach our baseball team. I had never played before and I think he got his first gray hairs from me! He was always patient with his advice though. He was a sweet kid, a kind young man and I'm sure as the years went on he only became more of what he was then. Sending warm thoughts and hugs to you Terri and all of Ken's family.
