Lorraine Federico Obituary

Lorraine Yvonne Federico passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023 at the age of 93. She was born on June 17, 1929 in San Jose, California to William and Josephine Brown. Her sister, Virginia Perry passed away in 1976.Harry and Lorraine (Laurie) were married in 1950, and raised 6 children in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose. In 1973, they moved to Aptos, where they lived until their move to Dominican Oaks in 2005. Harry and Laurie lived their last few years in Santa Maria, California to be near four of their children. Harry passed away in September 2022.Lorraine was a loving mother of 6 children, yet still found the time to volunteer in her community. She taught Catechism in the migrant camps, and was a bookkeeper for Habitat for Humanity. An active member of Resurrection Church, she and Harry lead Marriage/Engaged Encounter Retreats, and served as Eucharistic Ministers. She was kind, generous, compassionate, and a positive force who always had a smile on her face, and a wonderful sense of humor.Lorraine was a skilled card player, loved games of all kinds, and participated in various bridge groups throughout the years. She was an avid reader and took writing classes throughout her life.Lorraine is survived by her six children: Jamie (Arthur) Herbon, Michael Federico, Kelly (Tom) Devany, Cory (Jose) González, William (Kirk) Federico, and Shannon (Matt) Fidiam, as well as 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Sincere sympathy to the whole family for losing your father and mother so close together. It was my pleasure to have met them , sharing time, stories and meals. They leave a loving legacy to a beautiful family. God bless you all.
