Lifelong Resident Aptos
Mark Ledyard, 65, passed away at his Aptos home on Thursday August 17, 2017 following a brief illness. A private cremation has taken place. Born in Santa Cruz, Mark graduated from Aptos High School. He was an avid coin collector, and enjoyed that hobby up until his passing.
When Mark was younger, he enjoyed surfing at Rio and water skiing on the Deltas with family and friends. Mark's father, David Ledyard, preceded him in death in 1983.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Ledyard of Aptos and his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Bill Patrick of Bonny Doon.

I really miss my friend for so many decades-- w would talk for 8 rs sometimes on the phone
Mark was extremely intelligent and he knew a lot about the stock market too-- I had him mentor me on my first stock transaction and made over 20 grand in 1 week on an IPO with a 1000 dol investment.
I hunted bottles with him from ten yrs old... then, of course, we logged and removed trees over houses together for decades
Marl would site in a giant 200 foot plus Redwood like Clint Eastwood sitting in a gunslinger-- he kind of looked like him too
The last time I talked to Mark on the phone I told him I loved him-- I'm glad I did that, It mustve been very close to the time of his death.

Mark was one of my best friends for decades
We worked together logging and climbing tree's, and met hunting for old bottles together in 1970.
I think he loved hunting for old bottles best
He will be SO MISSED!!!!

Mark was my neighbor for many years. He was a kind and gentle person and always enjoyed a lively debate. Callie and I will miss him very much.
