Mary "Lorraine" (nee Allen) Bumb passed away, fortified by the last rites of the Catholic Church, in her home on June 8, 2016, just one month shy of her 93rd birthday.
Lorraine was born on July 11, 1923 in Santa Maria, California. She married George Bumb on June 9, 1946 in San Jose, California.
Lorraine became Catholic as a young woman and remained devoted to her Faith, especially the rosary, for the rest of her life. For 70 years she created a warm, loving, and fun atmosphere in her home which kept her family close. Her hobbies were raising and showing Morgan horses, creating photo albums, needlepoint, and handing out skittles.
She affected the lives of so many with her genuine joy, cheerfulness, and love. She will fondly and prayerfully be remembered by all who knew her.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, George Sr., her daughter Mary, her son George, her infant son Patrick, and her siblings.
She is survived by her children Jeff (Liz), daughter-in-law Joanne (widow of George), Tim (Jennifer), son-in-law John (widower of Mary), Susan (Dan), Brian (Theresa), Anne-Marie, Teresa (Leon) as well as 64 grandchildren, 172 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may your perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the Faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
Services are as follows:
Tuesday, June 14th 6-9pm a Viewing at St. Philomena Hall, 1565 S. White Road, SJ, CA 95127 with a Rosary at 7 pm. Wednesday, June 15th Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Philomena Hall and burial at 12:30pm at Calvary Cemetery, 2650 Madden Avenue, SJ, 95116

Mrs. Bumb was a lovely woman and fabulous mother that raised a family of wonderful people. She loved life and family sharing her passions with all around her. We will miss her but her love is forever present in her family and faith.
