Pieter Bol Obituary

Pieter Bol
January 23, 1932 - December 18, 2021
Rio Del Mar, CA
Pieter Bol, 89, peacefully passed away December 18, 2021 at his Rio Del Mar, CA home surrounded by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Nellie, and his three children.
He was born Jan. 23, 1932 in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands, the middle child out of six children. Pieter studied agriculture in South Africa and with his degree returned to the Netherlands where he lured Nellie away from his younger brother and a slew of suitors. The couple wed February 16, 1962 and a few short months later immigrated to Watsonville, CA.
Pieter was an agriculture expert specializing in strawberries at a cold storage facility in Watsonville. He and Nellie had three children, Dennis, Caroline and Richard. He loved the Dutch National soccer team, his beautiful landscaping, his dogs Boi and Dutch, a cup of tea, his wooden shoes, and pretty much anything Dutch.
In addition to his wife and children, Pieter is survived by his five grandchildren, Alexandra, Nicholas, Jonathan, Jacqueline and Madeleine . . . who were his pride and joy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County.

Whenever I would ask Mr. Bol how he was doing his reply was "Oh, up and down but mostly up". He was such a nice person. My condolences to all his family and friends.
