Richard Ludlow Obituary

Richard Ludlow
August 26, 1937 – March 9, 2017
Salinas
Richard Kent Ludlow, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, entered into eternity on March 9, 2017 in Salinas, California at the age of 79, surrounded by family and friends.
Kent, as he liked to be called, was born in Oakland, California on August 26, 1937. He moved to Boulder Creek as a child and later attended college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He then served in the Navy, traveling to various places around the world. Later, he married and moved to San Jose, California, where he worked several years for the City of San Jose.
Kent was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, LaVerne Ludlow, his father, Robert Ludlow and his mother Mildred Ludlow.
Kent leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law, Derek Ludlow and Esther Ludlow, his daughter and son-in-law, Karen Ludlow Hayward and Wesley Hayward, his grandchildren Teresa, Cameron, Reba and Quinten, his great grandson Mateo and his brother, Robert Ludlow, Jr.
Kent was kind-hearted and generous and brought joy to those around him. He was a great blessing to his friends and family.
Kent was always there for his children and they never had to wonder if they were loved. He loved his wife deeply and frequently expressed how much he missed her after she passed away.
Kent was usually upbeat and smiling, even when he was going through challenging times. He will always be remembered for saying "God bless you" to those he interacted with and for his love of vanilla ice cream.
Kent was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Kent at Cathedral of Faith, 2315 Canoas Garden Avenue in San Jose, California on Saturday 3/25/17 at 11 am.
But as it is written:
"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9

To Kent & Family:

As your little brother I will always be with you and thank you for your love and our close and loving childhood. You and your family should know how much your friendship and love gave me the support and architecture to have such a lull life after my accident in 1952.

I will miss you but feel great warmth knowing you are in a new life after such a rich and valued time with us. Love, Your brother Bob

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die....a time to weep and a time to laugh. A time to mourn and a time to dance. A time to gain and a time to lose.

It is Kent's time to gain, now with his wife eternally united. It is our time to lose, we all lost a very special person who touched our lives with the kindness of his heart. We will miss him much. Thank you Lord for sharing him with us, in our short time here, we now release him back to you.
His life was a blessing to all.
