Our beloved passed from this world facing the sun that rose over the garden and woods he so cherished. Bob was born in Princeton, Indiana. He served in World War ll then spent a lifetime in law enforcement from bailiff to deputy sheriff in Alameda County where he became an investigator with the District Attorneys Office. He and his family had a summer cabin in the Santa Cruz Mountains and he later built a home there among the redwoods. Bob transferred to the Santa Cruz County District Attorney's Office and established a strong reputation as an Inspector, helping to solve some of the country's most heinous crimes. Later he became a private investigator. Bob, along with his wife Joan moved to beautiful Roseburg Oregon in 2003 where they truly enjoyed their lovely home. He is survived by his wife Joan, children Vicki Swaynie, Stephen Swaynie, grandson Rob Swaynie, stepson Charles Collins and his wife Christine, step grandsons Kimo and Kevin Collins, sister Virginia Prokl, nieces Marla and Wanda Wade, Jodee Grant.
