Ruben Curtin Obituary
3/27/85 - 12/10/12
Resident of San Jose, CA
Ruben was born in Guatemala and adopted as an infant by Lynn and Richard, his loving parents. Raised in Boston, France, England and Santa Cruz, California, Ruben was a passionate, fiercely independent and ambitious soul. Graduating from Santa Cruz High School, he then achieved his Bachelor degree from CSU Monterey Bay and a graduate degree from Cal State Fullerton in Information Technology. He struggled over the course of his life with depression, but will be remembered by all as a kind, caring person, with a big smile, an even bigger laugh, and an incredibly warm heart. Ruben was playful, engaging and incredibly smart. He enjoyed working with technology and flying like the wind on his motorcycle.
Ruben was deeply loved by his parents, his brother and sister, Sarah and Alex, his girlfriend Maggie and their dog Charlie, his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. A ceremony will be conducted at 1pm on Sunday December 16, at the Beit Olam section of the Soquel Cemetery, 550 Old San Jose Road, Soquel, California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations should be made to the New Life Community Services organization, www.nlcsonline.com.

Only a few days ago did my son Yosuke ask me Ruben's family name. Today, he tried to find him through Facebook and knew that Ruben's in the heaven. Ruben was Yosuke's best friend as sixth graders. I still remember they played every day. I wanted to see him again.
