Tyler Willis Richardson passed on unexpectedly on Aug 3, 2011 in Palm Springs, California. He was just shy of his twenty-first birthday. Tyler will always be remembered for his kind and generous heart, a smile that would light up a room, and his wacky sense of humor. He brought joy to those he loved, and those he had just met. Tyler was a lover of people, especially children. He adored his niece, Ryin Nicole, and took advantage of any opportunity he had to be her silly Uncle Ty-Ty.
Tyler graduated from Soquel High in 2008. He attended Cabrillo College where he was majoring in psychology. Tyler's plan was to finish his last few credits at College of The Desert, Palm Springs, and complete his degree at UC Riverside. Tyler started working at the Bleu Spoon in Aptos at age fifteen. He worked at Seascape Resort for two-and-a half years, and was working at The Parker Resort in Palm Springs. He always felt good about working hard, being self-sufficient, and having a positive attitude.
Tyler leaves behind his parents Eric Richardson of Aptos, Wendy Richardson of Aptos; his sister Lindsey Kent, brother-in-law Jonathan Kent, niece Ryin Kent, and grandmother JoAnne Willis of San Jose; seven aunts and uncles, seven cousins; more friends than we could ever count, and his beloved Subaru WRX STi. Tyler was the best son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, co-worker, and friend that anyone could have.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 4:00 pm on the bluff at Seascape Resort, 1 Seascape Resort Drive, Aptos, CA 95003. There will be a memory board to share your pictures and reflections of Tyler. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity and spread Tyler's random acts of kindness and his smiles. Remember Tyler's words, "No worries. It's all good."

You were a great co-worker, amazing friend, and a silly boy to be around. You had that silly side, but you were always very responsible and caring. I loved your smile! We had some good times, some funny catch-phrases, and moments that we would talk about almost every time we saw each other... Dave and I shared a couple at your memorial. It was such a blessing to be part of it and get to learn more about you and your family. I will miss you Ty. Love you very much, friend! Love, T

You came into the world one day
a few short years ago
We wrapped you up in arms of love
and you began to grow.
You learned to walk, and then to talk
when you were very small
We watched you dazzle with a smile
you gave to one and all.
You learned to care 'bout others
and often showed them how
We saw with joy and pride so great
and often remember now.
You treasured every single friend
be they young or old
We could not help but think
you had a pot of gold.
You filled the world with sunshine
a bright and shining light
We held you high for all to see
and knew that you were right.
We knew God sent an angel down
to take you to his home.
You could not be forgotten son
as if we'd ever try
We try to see the love you left
even as we cry.
You wait for us with God we know
for us to join you there
We on Earth
will find you everywhere.
Love to you and yours

Tyler was an exceptional young man! What a shame his life had to end at twenty. He had so much to offer the world, and so little time to do it in. My heart aches for Wendy, Eric, Lindsey, Jonathan and the rest of the family. I wish we could all have watched him grow and continue to bloom and bless others with his presence for a long lifetime.

What a gift to have a son like Tyler. I will keep his happy smile and sparkling eyes in my heart and prayers everyday. I have never met him, but feel like i have seen him through his mother's eyes, the most wonderful mother any boy could have ever had. Her warmth, kindness, and optimism, and so many other stellar qualities, too numerous to mention, and most of all, her rich compassion and love of God, will shine through Tyler from Heaven forever.
I am so so saddened to hear of such sudden challenge in his mother's life, yet grateful that they were able to bless each other l with the joy and love they shared. Prayers for comfort and healing are in my heart for each one in the family, from Grandma to little Rian, and all who love their wonderful Tyler.
