Leon Gose passed away peacefully at home on Feb 21, 2009 at age 71. He was a man to whom family meant everything. He is survived by his mother Phyllis Gose, son Jeffrey Gose Lynne and daughter Terri Tomlin Michael. He has two grandchildren, Trevor and Trenton Tomlin. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Bob" Gose.
A lifelong resident of Santa Cruz & Aptos, Leon graduated Santa Cruz High School in 1957. he became a master woodworker and cabinetmaker, then a highly skilled CNC machinist with Watkins Johnson. Throughout his life he loved to build things and make them better. In retirement he was best known for his devoted and loving care of his mother over the years, his unfailing good humor and his willingness to laugh. He became a focal point within his Vienna Woods neighborhood where he is remembered for willingness to help with house repairs, lend a hand in medical emergencies, or keep a watchful eye on things. Neighbors particularly recall his actions following the Loma Prieta Earthquake when he ensured everyone's gas was shut off and created a safe haven in his backyard following the event. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family asks that friends celebrate Leon's life by sharing memories. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Santa Cruz Homeless Services or the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz.

Terri, I'm sorry to learn of your father's passing. I remember you introduced me to him when we worked at Seagate so many years ago. It sounds like he was a wonderful person. I know you will miss him very much.
