Ward Noland Obituary

"The Leader of the band has died"

Ward H. Noland, Sr. passed away on Jan 31, 2006 at age 91. He was born in Spirit Lake, Iowa on April 23, 1914. His family later moved to Hayward Minnesota where he was a potato farmer with his father and three brothers. He moved to San Jose, CA with is wife and son in 1949. He worked as a produce inspector there and near the Mexican/CA border. In the 1960s, he and his wife opened clothing stores in Santa Cruz, San Jose, Mt. View and Fresno, CA. They enjoyed traveling to Mexico, the South Seas, Hawaii and Florida for buying trips and pleasure. Ward was a family man, friendly, hard working & adventurous.

Ward was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and daughter Doreen Noland. He leaves a son Ward Jr., daughter-in-law Ginger Noland, grandsons Bruce Noland wife Michelle, Todd Noland wife Sue and Casey Noland, eight great grandchildren, sister, Lois Miller husband Bob and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Chanticleer Home in Santa Cruz where Ward was cared for with kindness and respect the last three years of his life.

No services are planned at this time. At a later date, his ashes together with his wife's, will be scattered at sea.
